This 3D model showcases a stone replica of the pioneering submarine Peral, which was designed by Spanish engineer and sailor Isaac Peral for the Spanish Navy. As one of the first electric battery-powered submarines ever built, it marked a major milestone in naval history when launched on September 8, 1888. Featuring one torpedo tube loaded with two torpedoes and an air regeneration system, this innovative vessel paved the way for future designs with its sleek hull shape, propeller, periscope, and cruciform external controls. On June 1, 1890, Peral's submarine made history by launching a torpedo while submerged, demonstrating its impressive capabilities. Additionally, it was the first submarine to integrate a fully reliable underwater navigation system. After being decommissioned in 1890, Peral is now proudly displayed at the Cartagena Naval Museum, serving as a testament to its groundbreaking achievements.
