A cleverly crafted toy submarine model created by one of my students showcases impressive skills. My high school geometry class leveraged openSCAD and the MakerBot as a powerful tool to delve into the z-axis, gain hands-on coding experience, and reinforce critical concepts such as intersection, union, and rigid transformations. Two classroom periods were devoted to learning the intricacies of openSCAD, while students had two weeks outside of class to design and bring their creations to life.
