Subbuteo Goals
thingiverse
The aim was to craft budget-friendly, simple objectives for a Subbuteo club in Portland, Oregon. Subbuteo is a tabletop soccer game not widely distributed in the USA. The standard set comes with flimsy, soft plastic goals. Aftermarket "Pro" goals are made of metal and cost between $40-$40, requiring importation from the UK or Italy. This version is highly stable, allowing for traditional play with fingers holding the edge down or secured to a table with bolts through the provided holes. If you have access to a 3D printer, you can create a set for under $5, plus filament costs. This design has undergone several revisions. I've rounded the caps on the ends of the crossbars, added a hole near the middle of the side goalposts on the bottom, and included an option with printed side netting. I'll post a link to a more "final" design once it's nearly complete. So far, field testing has been extremely positive for these objectives.
