Subaru Sambar Battery Box Thumb Screw
thingiverse
In cleaning up the look of my new-to-me 1996 Subaru Sambar, I just purchased the 651009480 battery cover. This hides the battery behind a much nicer looking cover, but it doesn't come with the hardware. I have a ton of M6 bolts, and so it was easier and faster to CAD up the part and print it, than it would have been to order it from Japan. There is no reason this couldn't be used for any other use, and frankly there are a ton of other thumb wheels out there, but this one is mine. I printed it in Priline Carbon Fiber Poly Carbonate with 20% infill at a .2 layer height and .4 nozzle. After I printed it, I pressed in an M6x30 bolt using a long socket head to keep it straight in the vice. From there it just screws right in. I would also recommend a washer and possibly a split washer to keep it from backing out. Enjoy! I have a writeup about this and our 1996 Subaru Sambar. When it posts it will be at https://tynytruck.com/2021/06/14/battery-box-cover/
