Subaru EJ25D Rear Main Seal Press
thingiverse
After overdriving the rear main seal, banging it in was necessary, so I decided to build a little press block that I could use in combination with the flex plate's spreader plate and 4 of its bolts to press the seal in perfectly evenly and to the perfect depth. I then went ahead and created a set of gears for the bolt heads, and central drive gear, that can be driven with a 1/2" ratchet, so all bolts will turn in unison, saving the hassle of counting revolutions and whatnot. I used the tapered press block, but an untapered press block is also included, which might work better if you use the flex plate or something else sufficiently larger as your spreader plate. However, it worked quite well as built. One thing to keep in mind is that turns out the bolts for the flex plate aren't very long, so you have to tap in the seal just a little so the bolts can catch and you can start using this contraption. You could also probably use this to tap in the seal all the way too. If you want to grab longer bolts, JIS (14mm hex) M10p1.0x25 are needed.
