Summary Watch the YouTube video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPos9yfSatw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0xPSoaX__0 to learn more about this large format 3D printer. It has a print area of 300W x 280D x 230H. The cost is low, using recycled e-waste materials. The frame is made from compressed aluminium tubes and features an xy-axis and z-axis stabilisation for smooth operation. A high-power heat bed uses cheap ceramic resistors, supported by two old PC power supplies. A larger version has also been built with a print area of 400W x 300D x 400H. The design can be easily modified using Sketch-up to accommodate different sizes and dimensions. The printer is designed to use recycled components from printers, PCs, and general e-waste supplied by Substation 33 in Brisbane, Australia. The total cost excluding recycled components was around $200 AUD, primarily due to the cost of nuts, bolts, screws, and threaded rods. A new version 2.01 design has been completed and is currently under construction. The focus is on maximising recycled components, with an estimated price well under $100 AUD. It will be uploaded within the next month or two. My goal is to convert millions of PCs, office printers, and general e-waste into low-cost 3D printers for disadvantaged people.
