https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLh0iB4b2RQ The creators of this project have built a low-cost 3D printer using recycled e-waste components. Key Features: Large format print area: 300W x 280D x 230H Built with a focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility, the design incorporates elements that help reduce waste. High Power Heat Bed: A crucial component of any 3D printing system, this unit is built using cheap ceramic resistors. Extremely Rigid Aluminum Frame: Providing a strong foundation for the entire structure. Z-axis Stabilisation Incorporated: Preventing vibration and movement during high-speed carriage movements. The creators used recycled printer components which were provided by Substation 33 (an e-waste recycler in Brisbane Australia). This is achieved at a low cost with major expenses being attributed to basic fasteners. A newer design has been completed with estimated build time well under $100 AUD. Personal Goal: Reduce Electronic Waste Goal is to provide millions of 3D printers for disadvantaged individuals, increasing access to affordable technology
