Sub box Terminal Cup
thingiverse
A couple years back I built a 10-inch sub in a sealed box for my truck. Recently, the mounts on the store-bought terminal cup I had used gave way. This definitely compromised sound quality, so I came up with this replacement terminal cup featuring a beefier frame and mounting flange. Details about this terminal cup are as follows: The maximum width of its flange is 89mm, while the maximum height of its flange is 69mm. Its maximum width is 64mm and its maximum height is 44mm. The thickness of its floor is 5mm, the thickness of its flange is 4mm, and the wall thickness is also 5mm. Additionally, it has a depth of 10mm and an overall thickness of 14mm. This design was created to fit into the same 65mm x 45mm cutout that the original terminal cup occupied. For over a month now, I've been putting this cup through its paces in the scorching heat of summer. And honestly, I haven't observed any signs of degradation or breakage whatsoever. This version was printed using PLA with 50% infill and it's holding up remarkably well so far (we went through a series of 90°+ F/32°+ C days and it's still going strong). Two divots were included on the cup face to make locating where to drill easier, but I didn't design any through-holes. The choice of terminal type and size is entirely up to you - nuts & bolts, binding posts, straight pass-through, etc.
