Styracosaurus Puzzle Model
thingiverse
I built a Styracosaurus skeleton as part of my high school project that allowed me to graduate senior year. My mentor and I created a toy tractor and lowboy set and then added this skeletal structure using Autodesk Inventor drawings. I cut 29 separate pieces with laser assistance from him. The following list shows the individual parts needed for completion: (1) A large crest for the mane (1) A single backbone (2) Plates on either side of the head (8) Ribs, each labeled (A through H) (1) Pair of hip pieces - one at the front and another at the back (4) Long lower legs for the Styracosaurus' front and rear (2) Single hip bones (9) Bones making up the tail When cutting these pieces out with laser cutters, I found that every spline in ribs and backbone needed to be changed from lines into curved shapes before it would display all parts. I uploaded the 3D designs from Inventor along with the 3D STL files, so others can also use them if they need to recreate this project.
