This stylus pen was created by a team of 3D printer enthusiasts at Taylors Development Strategists. The concept began as a conversation between surveyors who then took on the challenge to design and print their own custom stylus pens for their controllers. The first prototype, V1, was designed and printed in red with high visibility in mind for construction fields. However, 16 out of 36 units broke easily due to low infill density, but the functionality proved successful, so they kept the working parts intact. After receiving feedback from field crews, the team moved on to V2. The changes made included removing two extruded rings that were weak points, increasing the top hole thickness, and adding a "Taylors" logo. 36 units were printed in red with 100% infill density and handed out for further testing. The project was shared on Instagram, where it received positive feedback from fellow surveyors. In response, they designed a special edition stylus pen for the Own The Centimetre Instagram account. The Special Edition V3 featured an OwnTheCM logo and 36 units printed in blue with 100% infill density.
