Stylized Mount Rushmore
thingiverse
Here is a stylized version of Mt. Rushmore using busts of those four presidents that clearly don't resemble the real deal, but we like it anyway!\nI sourced the Teddy Roosevelt from the Scan the World archive at https://www.myminifactory.com/object/bust-of-theodore-roosevelt-at-the-american-museum-of-natural-history-2011, which allows me to publish the entire thing under the license I prefer.\nThe lens frames are added to Roosevelt and were intentionally made too thin to print well - a pleasant surprise for one of the few times in 3D printing! Only fragments of them slice and print, so the finished product resembles Mt. Rushmore's rugged terrain.\nI sculpted eyes onto Jefferson and gave him a mouth, as well as repairing his top head, to bring him up to speed with the other models he'll be standing next to. I also mottled his skin for added realism.\nThis print required no supports - my favorite kind of printing!\nI have one modeled up with trees on it, but now I plan to study photographs of the actual place and move them to their rightful positions! The revised file will be available soon.
