Sturdy Filament Spool Holder
thingiverse
Wanted a solid filament spool holder that I could mount right up against a surface without any hassle. I knew there were tons of these kinds of solutions out there, but this one has been working perfectly for me so far. It's only been tested with 1kg spools. First, press a couple of skate bearings into the Spool Holders. Then, run a 5/16" threaded rod through the tower and secure it in place by pressing a nut into the hexagonal recess. To lock the shaft firmly in position, add a nut with a washer on the backside. Use a few washers to prevent the inner Spool Holder from rubbing against anything. I used PETG filament for this project, but any type of filament should work just fine.
