Sturdier printed Z axis for prusa i3
thingiverse
This is a crafted framework for the Prusa i3 model printer. The design aims to surpass earlier rigidity designs by kknapp while being printed out faster than comparable models created by chocjulio66 et al.. The structure can be put together incrementally - only the corner reinforcements are strictly necessary, the rest can be 3D printed and clipped on for additional stability. The framework is built around a backbone of six M8 threaded rods. On their own, these threaded rods are capable of being flexed, but when embedded in plastic they form a stiffer composite material. This reinforced composite helps to enhance the structural integrity of the frame, which leads to a reduction in x axis movement resonance.
