I feel silly sharing this, but maybe it would help you out. Many apps make it easy to add a letter to something, but making a recess for a letter when printing the letter separately is harder. The hole needs to be slightly bigger, but scaling up the letter won't work because then the hollow parts of letters like A and O get bigger in the wrong direction. So, I came up with an idea that people could add "holes" to their model and then print the letters separately. This seems to work okay when scaled down to 80%, although I haven't tried printing at lower resolutions. If you go too small, the letters can be hard to print. They should scale up fine, but the holes will start getting too big. Honestly, it might be easier to just redo it with an appropriate string or font than use my letters. But maybe this will help someone out.
