The Close Quarters Combat Stun Grenade, also known as a flashbang or ML1 device, is a non-lethal weapon designed for tactical operations. In the early days of human conflict, stunning devices were first developed but eventually fell out of favor with both military and civilian authorities due to their limitations. However, in 2135, a major civil unrest swept through EU cities, sparking renewed interest in cheap, non-lethal incapacitants like the SW55 Flash Grenade. But these early models proved to have significant drawbacks. In response to this experience, Weisskopf Dynamics partnered with other smaller companies to secure a long-term contract from UE Corps to develop a more effective and safer stun grenade for close quarters combat situations.
