I have now successfully completed my project Motorcycle Handle Heating Controller. I have rebuilt an LED dimmer for the purposes of the rules, the regulators are readily available online for a small fee. These are designed to handle 12V and up to 8A current. On the controller, I swapped out the existing 1K ohm potentiometer for one with a switch, but the switch can't handle this high level of current. As a result, I've broken off the supply of power to the control electronics behind the diode on the board and bridged it with the switch, ensuring only the control electronics is activated. To help monitor this process, I installed a control LED with a 560 ohm resistor. The connections can be clearly seen in the photo. Heated handles from Daytona are used, these have 60 watts and are connected in parallel to the regulator. I then connected the entire system to 12V via the ignition lock on the connection for the horn (which is separately secured on the Suzuki). It works flawlessly and allows for infinite adjustment.
