Studio-R4 | 32 Sided Polyhedron Sphere
grabcad
I have a product concept that needs a 16 sided Geodesic Dome or technically half of Truncated Icosahedron. After reviewing a number of files out there, I thought it'd be quite difficult to make my own. To my surprise it was super easy! I just made a hexagon and pentagon with same edge lengths and started assembling them by their edges in Solidworks. It basically formed itself in no time. The SolidWorks assembly decides to barf frequently during creation, but with a little patience I was able to create 2 hemispheres, assemble them together, save as a part, and then knit the surfaces to get my final enclosed dodecahedron ball.
