Stud for Rubbermaid Vent Caddy

Stud for Rubbermaid Vent Caddy

I bought a rubbermaid vent caddy from the thrift store but it didn't have the piece you need to hook it to a vent. I made a little mushroom stud on Tinkercad sized to fit a a #8-32 round headed bolt. I had made a knob that fitted a nut for the back side of the stud, but my printer kept warping the nut shape so I omitted it from this design. A bolt by itself should be more than enough to support it. Make sure you thread the female piece (on the caddy) onto the smaller part of the mushroom. I broke one trying to snap it on. I believe that filing the part on the caddy a bit might enable one to snap the caddy on and off like it was intended, but since the design fits my needs...that's a problem for you to solve.
