The initial LP version of this model showcases the shuttle orbiter's exterior alongside external tanks and solid rocket boosters. It is meticulously textured and constructed almost to scale. The model features accurate aerodynamic surface designs for the spacecraft, tanks, and boosters. However, it does not include landing gear or control surfaces for aerodynamics. This versatile model is available in 10 different formats. The shuttle program, dating back from the late '50s with design trials, lasted through the '80s and '90s. It was a remarkably safe system with only two major accidents causing vehicle damage and crew fatalities. As the world's first reusable spacecraft system, the Space Shuttle program left an indelible mark on the history of space exploration due to its innovations, capabilities, and longevity.
