Strømg Lump Leaks is a ceiling lamp created by Lamp Lumps (LL) with an innovative design technique involving self-supporting interlocking of 547 distinct polypropylene pieces, routed using a three-axis CNC without gluing, screwing, or nailing. The name Strømg is derived from combining the English word 'strong' and the Danish surname Strøm, reflecting the lamp's robust, three-dimensional puzzle-like form resulting from small variations in each piece. It serves as a tribute to Holger Strøm and his IQ Lamp. The Lump Leaks name suggests ideas of leaking water or information and the final design is inspired by the metaball modeling technique widely used in digital media architecture in the 90s. The designer offers this design information under specific conditions: creating unique variations, not selling objects made from it, sharing designs based on it on Thingiverse, and using these conditions in future designs. To create your own Strømg Lump Leaks, use 0.6mm polypropylene sheets and a router tip radius of 0.5mm to cut the g-code files from provided DXF files without routing numbers on the surface if desired. Enjoy!
