The sole of my foot is a canvas of worn and weathered skin, bearing the telltale signs of a lifetime's worth of mileage. Scars from scrapes and scuffs are etched into its surface like topographic maps of forgotten memories. A faint grid of blue veins hums just beneath the translucent skin, a network of tiny rivers that pulse with life. The heel, a sturdy anchor for the entire apparatus, is pockmarked with tiny calluses, each one a testament to repeated impact and friction.
