An aircraft wing was designed that incorporated all its structural components. A real-time wind load was generated for various conditions using CFD software. FEA analysis of the component with mapped loads followed. Ribs were optimized according to stress response to minimize weight. Tools utilized included CATIA, Unigraphics, Hypermesh, RADIOSS, OptiStruct and STAR CCM+.
