Stronger Hex Bit Case

Stronger Hex Bit Case

I liked the idea behind RoyToreHofstad's remixed Hex Bit Storage Box, with the cuttout to push instead of the tab to pull. I found the back of the case was too weak with the cuttout, so this is 1.5X as thick on the back. I also added small rails on the bottom to strengthen that side and help it sit flat. The top of the case has the words "Hex Bits" because, why not. I recommend doing a test print, slice the height down by 90% or so, to make sure the tray slides through OK. My first print was too tight, which could have been due to some sloppy printing artifacts on the interior, but after I increased the X direction to 101% if fit perfectly. I also had trouble with extruder skipping while printing the tray. This print has a LOT of retracts in rapid succession, which can wear down and break the filament. I had to reduce my retraction distance from 6mm to 2mm and I slowed the retraction speed to 30mm/s. As long as you use "Avoid crossing perimeters" or the similar setting in your slicer of preference the stringing should be manageable even with less retraction.
