Strong Prusa i3 Y axis mount parametric
thingiverse
I reworked this Prusa i3 Y Axis Motor holder in SCAD because I had to tweak it for my printer's rail size and distance. All major parameters are adjustable directly within the SCAD file or through Thingiverse's customizer tool. If you're using a stepper motor larger than NEMA 17, the space between the build platform slider and the motor is woefully inadequate! Even with a NEMA 17, it's a snug fit at best. In contrast to the original design, this part is mirrored since most people have their motors on the left side of the middle column, so the motor axis aligns perfectly with the upper rail. Interestingly, the designer probably used washers in the posted photo because the screw sinkholes are pressed against the motor in the original part.
