I always prefer blowers versus fans because they are more reliable, quieter and put out a stronger airflow. When you want to direct air onto a tiny area focused on the nozzle, you need a bit of pressure behind it. Using fans in this same application results in too much turbulence and resistance for the air flow at the nozzle to cut through efficiently. A blower's design allows for a higher-pressure zone at the end, so the airflow is less prone to leaking out to one side, like fans tend to do. I created a robust, modular and simple support system for use with blowers that prints easily, possibly adaptable to other printer components too. Additionally, I added a component allowing you to attach multiple blowers via the extruder using some of my previous designs from the L3K. This setup provides extremely precise airflow concentrated only at the lower level of the nozzle. Try it out yourself; when set to maximum power, blowing air might be intense for certain prints. Just print with any material having a high glass transition temperature, like ABS. Printing... No special instructions needed. My results so far have been exceptional, surpassing even what's achievable using fans, particularly at 50% power using standard blowers. Anyway, if additional airflow is necessary, feel free to add an optional second blower for increased performance. The air flow I achieved is way more than what any fan-based solution has delivered in my testing. Remember to use anti-rotation washers if you're unsure (I personally didn't need them).
