Human: UpdatesApril 4th 2015: The hole for Hex nut was removed because it broke when twisting:\nThe great thing about this extruder is that the filament is guided to the hobbed bolt with precision.\nI was fed up with Greg's standard extruder where I had to remove pressure screws every time to change filament.\nWith this system, changing filament is a breeze, as the dedicated top hole guides the filament smoothly down to the bottom hole.\nThe hobbed bolt always gets a firm grip on the filament, even if its teeth are slightly off-center.\nThis extruder eliminates annoying "clicks" often encountered with standard extruders.\nThe stepper motor finds it easy to push the filament as less force is required.\nTry it and see for yourself - you'll enjoy it! Changes\nI made changes to the original part found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:456025.\n- I chose the 3mm filament version.\n- A hole was added for the Jhead hot end at the bottom, along with two side holes for support screws.\nAdditional supports were incorporated so that none need be generated internally.\nThe internal generated supports can be problematic.\nThe newly added supports are easily removable (orange parts to remove in the pictures).\n-The hole for the stepper motor's central axis was increased in size.\nProblems may arise with small gear wheels if they collide with side screws hitting the edges of this larger hole.
