Strong 8 inch Shelf Bracket
thingiverse
!!!FINAL DESIGN!!! This is a rugged 8 inch shelf bracket that I designed for a 10-12 inch shelf. The shelf bracket is incredibly strong and even surprises me with its strength. It can hold about 70 lbs on its own and 40 lbs at the tip of the shelf bracket, and it's even holding 2 cinder blocks and 2 fire bricks while still having room to handle more! After conducting a stress weight test, I discovered that the current design can hold over 120-130+ lbs, and the brackets failed at 170+ lbs. Changes: I moved the screw holds to provide a stronger hold to the wall and shelf. The structural supports have been completely redesigned, with no holes going through any structure. The supports are thinner than the rest of the bracket, allowing for a screwdriver/drill to pass by while installing the bracket. One of the wall mounting screw holes has been lowered to make installation easier and prevent screws from colliding. A top shelf holddown screw hole was removed to add strength to the design. **A wall mount screw was also removed for added strength. **A small taper was added at the top corner to increase the bracket's strength. Please leave any feedback you might have, as I appreciate suggestions for future designs. Print Settings Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .1mm Infill: 25-35% Notes: Wall Thickness: .8mm (I'm testing 1mm soon) Top/Bottom Thickness: .8mm (again, I'm testing 1mm soon) Infill pattern: Grid (haven't stress tested any other pattern yet)
