STROMBY frame hanging system.

This is a picture-hanging system specifically designed for the IKEA STROMBY range of picture frames. To hang an A4-sized frame, you'll need at least two "Picture Hanger Top Angled" pieces. These are simple items consisting of a stepped cylinder with an eccentric (countersunk) hole through it. Screw these to the wall, making sure the larger diameter sticks out from the wall. Due to the eccentric design, any slight inaccuracy in level can be corrected by loosening the screw and rotating the cylinder slightly until it's level with the other piece, then tighten up again. If you plan to use this system in a high-traffic area like a pub, where people might try to remove the picture, print one or two "Picture Hanger Bottom" pieces. These will prevent the bottom of the frame from swinging out from the wall. To locate them, hang the picture and mark the bottom of the frame on the wall. Remove the picture and screw the bottom piece onto the wall so that the lower part of the center curve touches the mark. Make sure the screws are not tightened; the plastic must be able to rotate around the screw when the center of the curved piece is lightly pressed upwards. To hang the picture, engage the bottom of the frame with the bottom piece and press up slightly until the bottom piece flexes enough for the top edge of the frame to "hook" onto the top pieces. For added security, you can screw a "Picture Hanger Lock" piece above the picture and finish it off with the small plug in the screw hole. The top piece has an angled step because when walls are not perfectly flat, it's hard to get it to fully engage behind the picture frame. If the frame is holding a thick display item (like an image on cardboard), the bottom piece might be difficult to engage; I have other designs for such situations. I printed these in PLA and used them to hang up large STROMBY frames in a pub.
