Stringing Retraction Test
thingiverse
I couldn't find a stringing test STL that I liked, so I created one. This one has a base of 5mm tall and has numbers added so that you can customize your slicing program to change retraction distance every 10 mm. Total height is 55mm. I use Cura to customize retraction settings to change at specific heights. You can find the settings by clicking Extensions>Post Processing>Modify G-Code. From there, you will add the script ChangeAtZ for each step. Make sure your initial slice settings have retraction set to 0mm and desired retraction speed. I start retraction speed at 50 mm/s and adjust if I need to. Add Script and change the following for each Z height: Height: 15mm Apply To: Target Layer + Subsequent Layers Enable Change Retraction Retract Length: 2mm Height: 25mm Apply To: Target Layer + Subsequent Layers Enable Change Retraction Retract Length: 4mm Height: 35mm Apply To: Target Layer + Subsequent Layers Enable Change Retraction Retract Length: 6mm Height: 45mm Apply To: Target Layer + Subsequent Layers Enable Change Retraction Retract Length: 8mm
With this file you will be able to print Stringing Retraction Test with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Stringing Retraction Test.
