Human: Get rid of annoying strings and ooze. 1. Set your travel speed (for non-printed lines) super high. In my case, 150 mm/s does the trick. 2. Optional: Try turning off retraction settings to see how much stringing you'll get. 3. Turn on retraction settings in your slicer. - Retraction distance: 1 mm - Retraction speed: 50 mm/s 4. Still seeing some strings? - Increase retraction distance by 1 mm per print and check the results. - I recommend keeping it under 5 mm for direct driven extruders. 5. Still stringing? - Stick with the best setting for your retraction length - Start with a retraction speed of 10 or 20 mm/s and increase by 10 mm/s - I recommend keeping it under 70 mm/s 6. You should see no more strings now! If you still get some, check out these troubleshooting tips: a) Overextrusion: You're extruding too much material, causing your nozzle to run through printed areas and drag plastic towards the edges. Try reducing the flow. b) Mechanical problem with Z-Axis: Your printer isn't printing at the exact height you want it to print, so it's running through layers (see Overextrusion). Check your belt tension or trapezoidal spindle. c) Printing temperature too high: Retraction still can't handle super fluid materials. Try reducing your printing temperature for a bit more viscosity in the material. d) Need help? Post in the comments!
