String supported tensegrity table thing
thingiverse
I was inspired by some random art online and designed this 6-point tensegrity table thing. You may have to sand the curved ends a little so they slide into the plate sockets easily. Also, I had to support the two plates in place with some cardboard and tape, then I could weave the needle and string through all the eyelets. I recommend that you dab a little superglue on each eye if you zig-zag like I did. It will naturally want to slip and no longer be parallel unless you run the string from each eye, straight across from each other. This was a fun project and it got a lot of nerd interest. Edit: I added an arm that has the hole offset by about .095" towards the outside. I noticed that if you tighten it enough, they tend to bow inwards too far and the string looks off.
