String light Color Filter Holder
thingiverse
We employed LED string lights for catwalk access in our theater and required adding gel, or a color filter, to them. To accomplish this task, I designed flexible covers that could hold the filter securely in place. As part of this project, I included a cutting guide specifically for the gel, making it easy to achieve a precise fit. The string lights are not dimmable; they are Mcmaster #1560K63 units. The covers fit snugly on the lights and were made using Ninjaflex filament, but PLA would also work well. Using flexible filament yields better results in terms of holding onto the light.
