After taking a set of lights back to my local big box store due to a cracked bulb housing, the replacement set showed similar signs after just a few months of use. There was nothing wrong with the LED component itself, and the bulbs are designed to be easily replaceable - at almost $3.00 each. So I came up with a quick fix for this problem. Threads well and looks close to the original from a distance, you can hardly tell the difference. Be aware that these LED assemblies were not meant to come apart. The prongs that insert into the wire had to be carefully broken out of the original plastic.
