This is a 1:64 digital scale model of the Stridsvagn 103 (Strv 103) military tank, designed and optimized specifically for FDM 3D printing. The Stridsvagn 103 (Strv 103), also known as the S-Tank, is a Swedish post-World War II main battle tank. Its design stands out due to its unconventional features: it has no turret, with a fixed gun that can be traversed by engaging the tracks and elevated by adjusting the hull suspension. Although turretless armoured fighting vehicles are typically classified as assault guns or tank destroyers, the Strv 103 is considered a full-fledged tank because its designated combat role matches those of other tanks within contemporary Swedish doctrine. It's worth noting that it's the only mass-produced tank since World War II to abandon a turret. The Strv 103 was designed and manufactured in Sweden during the 1950s, marking a significant milestone as the first main battle tank to utilize a turbine engine. The result is a very low-profile design with an emphasis on survivability and enhanced crew protection levels. From the 1960s to the 1990s, Strv 103s made up a substantial portion of Sweden's armoured forces, eventually being replaced by the Stridsvagn 121 and the Stridsvagn 122, variants of the Leopard 2.
