Stretch Belt Install Tool (automotive)
thingiverse
I had to replace a stretch belt on my car and a specialized tool was called for. Instead of shelling out $50 for one-time use, I eyeballed it and created an approximate 3D model. And it works! I used PLA 0.3mm and 30% infill, but a stronger material would have been even better. The screw part wasn't necessary at all; you just had to jam the part into place between the crank pulley and the belt and slowly turn the crank with a ratchet. Best of all, using plastic for this means you know you won't damage your pulleys! Important: Print the tool as modeled with the rounded part on the build plate. This strengthens the part because the layers are perpendicular to the stress of compression. Optional: To help the stretch belt slide off the tool, you can give it a quick sanding after printing to smooth it out.
