Stressless recliner headrest booster clip
thingiverse
I love my Stressless Ruby Classic recliner. It's the most comfortable piece of furniture I own. But every time I sit down, the headrest scoots down to its bottom position. Using TinkerCAD and spending just ten minutes produced a simple solution. Printing two of these gadgets and snapping one onto each headrest riser bar solves the problem completely. A second version was added with a wider base and top to prevent stress on the leather around the headrest risers. These clips are 50mm tall, so I adjust the Z axis to get longer or shorter clips. They print quickly at 0.30mm layers. Editorial: This is what I love about 3D printing! A problem that would have required most of an afternoon in my hot garage with a lathe and mill, along with some expensive aluminum stock, was solved in just ten minutes using TinkerCAD. An hour to print two of these simple clips - and the problem is gone.
