Each value is described by an individual component corresponding to the principal axes in 3D space. This method effectively describes stress within an ellipsoidal shape referred to as the stress ellipse or more broadly the stress ellipsoid. Key aspects are calculated with each tensor: Maximum shear strain, Major and Minor principal stresses along axes.
