Strength test

Strength test

thingiverse

This is a preliminary blueprint for a strength test that should shatter at approximately 40kg using ABS material. The specimen is expected to fracture in the middle section. Print Settings Rafts: No Rafts Supports: No Supports Infill: 100% Infill Notes: Print at full infill to achieve high reproduceability, given the small size of the prints and minimal material required. Test the optimal temperature for your material first, using a heat tower as an example. Print at least five specimens vertically and horizontally to obtain a reasonable sample size. I Designed This Design objectives The goal of this design is to conduct an ultimate tensile strength test on your filament to gain insight into its properties, enabling you to create more effective designs. The specimen is designed to be printed both vertically and horizontally without supports, as well as break at the midpoint. Another objective was to create a specimen that would fracture under a relatively low force, making experiments reproducible in a home setting. Changelog Changes made to the design will be posted here, with plans to freeze the current version soon so testing can commence. Edit 1: Attachment holes have been reduced in size to prevent stress concentrations.
