Street light
thingiverse
This project is still evolving, and updates will be shared as they become available. A street light for slot car tracks has been designed to mount onto a guard rail system. Alternatively, it can be directly attached to wood if a space is carved out for the wires. The light consists of three SMD LEDs connected in series with a 91-ohm resistor on a 12-volt power source. The first version of the street light pole features a cone shape measuring 14mm at the base and 12mm at the top, standing at a height of 155mm. The arm for this revision measures 8mm in diameter. A corresponding hole of 8mm is drilled into the light housing to accommodate the arm. In the second iteration, the street light pole maintains its 155mm height but features a more scaled-down cone shape with dimensions of 10mm at the base and 8mm at the top. The arm for this revision is reduced to 6mm in diameter. The light housing also has a corresponding hole of 6mm to fit the arm. Both revisions have identical heights, and while Kevin personally favors the second version's aesthetic, he acknowledges its more accurate scale. For the third revision, the street light pole retains the same cone shape as the second iteration but increases in height by 20mm to accommodate the top support of the arm. This change brings it to a total height of 175mm. The revised arm is longer and features a 6mm diameter with a 4mm wide top brace, allowing for better track coverage from the shoulder. Revision three utilizes the same light housing as revision two.
