Straylight Protector for Skywatcher Heritage 130p
thingiverse
I recently became proud owner of a Skywatcher Heritage 130p. Living in the city and using the telescope from my balcony, I wanted to safeguard the telescope mirror from stray light's disrupting effects.\r\nI researched various solutions on relevant forums, but none fully met my expectations. So I decided to design something myself.\r\n\r\nMy Idea was to create a clip-on solution for the rails, utilizing black fabric or foam rubber sheets. My first attempt used 2mm foam rubber sheets and proved highly effective.\r\n\r\nTo assemble this protection, you will need four brackets and must attach them with the foam rubber sheet after printing it. A hole needs to be carefully cut into the protection at the location of the focuser.\r\n\r\nThe design was created using OpenScad and should be fully parameterizable. It's not perfect but it serves its purpose.\r\n\r\nFeel free to adapt or remix this design as you see fit.\r\n\r\nThanks, Enjoy!\r\n\r\nP.S. I'm not a native English speaker, so if I've used incorrect terminology anywhere, please let me know and I'll appreciate the correction.
