This 3D model originated with Sketchup 7, subsequently converted to various other formats. The native file format is .skp, while the 3dsmax scene utilizes 3ds Max 2016 and Vray 3.00 for rendering. Designed for a specific individual with unique preferences, this small, multi-purpose backyard out-building measures 400 square feet. Despite its seemingly unconventional layout, it was created to meet the exacting specifications of its owner. They requested an out-building constructed from strawbale materials, incorporating clerestory windows and ample storage space in the form of closets. This cozy abode features a spacious single room with dedicated areas for a closet, pantry, and water closet. Thick walls provide insulation and structure, while plaster smoothly conceals both sides of the strawbale material within. By toggling off the roof layer, one can clearly see the building's underlying framework comprising six large studs measuring 16x16 inches each, complemented by smaller supporting elements. When the top-down view is employed without the roof visible, these structural details are prominently showcased. Conversely, when the roof layer is restored, its construction is revealed through an array of exposed beams, giving insight into the building's roofing mechanics. The roofing components can be inspected independently to see exactly how they were fabricated. Conceived as a personalized gift for a former teacher, this design holds great sentimental value and was intended to potentially occupy a prime location on their property.
