During my recent conversion of the Stratasys uPrint to an open-source platform, I encountered some mechanical issues that required me to design and manufacture replacement parts. For optimal performance, nylon or POM materials would be ideal choices. However, PLA is not a recommended material for functional parts due to its limitations, whereas ABS is a more suitable option.
