So I was not going to spend £100 on a machine that only works in one position and costs an arm and a leg. I've come up with something that's way more effective for me. I took two 1/2 ratchet spanners and two 32mm box sockets, then I ran a cutting grinder through both sides of each socket to give them some extra oomph. After designing and printing a few different types, I landed on one that just works. So now I have two prints with two sockets and two ratchets. I wrapped the plastic strap around the parcel, fed it through the butterfly piece (that's what it's called, right?), then fed the ears through each print and inserted them into the socket. Tighten up - be careful, this can snap the strap in half because it's so powerful. Just cut off with a knife when you're done. That's it, job complete! I hope you enjoy watching me fix this problem. I do have something even better in the works, but it might be overengineered. It's got a few parts now, so we'll see how that turns out.
