Strap Clamp (Remixed)
thingiverse
I really like the Strap Clamp by ariz0na, but I'm not crazy about having to tighten it with a spinning wheel. My remix takes a different approach by adding a handle for tightening. Simply set the clamp in place, adjust the strap and turn the handle to tighten or loosen the clamp. The Clamp object is now merged with the Wheel object after flipping the wheel 180 degrees. One modification I made was removing the nut insert on the Clamp Corner object. The Clamp Belt object remains unchanged from the original Thing. I used the Handle Husky object from Nut driver handle by wkarraker as the tightening handle for the clamp. To prepare it, I filled the hex hole at the bottom and created a round hole that goes a bit deeper to epoxy the 6mm threaded rod in place. Next, I ground the end of the 6mm threaded rod so the end against the Clamp Corner object fits into a smaller 4mm washer and spins against a larger 6mm washer. UPDATE: I just remembered to add the piece for holding excess strap neatly. Roll the excess strap onto the Clamp Strap Holder and secure it with a rubber band. This remix requires: * 6mm threaded rod * Washer for 6mm bolt * Washer for 4mm bolt * Epoxy (for the handle) The clamp and wheel portion needed some tiny support under the wheel part, but everything else printed without any supports.
