Strap Buckle from the House for Families, an enslaved community's artifact at George Washington's Mount Vernon estate, circa late 18th to early 19th century. The buckle was meticulously scanned in three dimensions using a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner within the archaeology laboratory at Mount Vernon. A detailed description was provided by Jessica Evans, a student of Virginia Commonwealth University. The digital model was generously offered by the Virtual Curation Laboratory on behalf of the Mount Vernon Ladies Association.
