I created this strap adjuster as a replacement for the one that broke. It's specifically designed to work with 30mm straps and requires no sewing at all - simply tap a 3mm steel rod into place, just like in the picture. If it doesn't fit perfectly right off the bat, you can always drill through with a 3mm bit to get it secure.
