Stranger Things Base
thingiverse
Hello, This is a remix of just the base to be used with version 1 of the Stranger Things sign. The first time I did the remix of the sign, I needed help to properly back light the sign. This base allows for the lights to be built in and illuminate it on its own. I stretched the base to the length of the sign, hollowed it out, and cut off the bottom part. For the top of the base where the sign goes, I drilled out 5 holes for LEDs to go through them. This is definitely a work in progress since there's not enough room to hide a 9V battery in the base. I was hoping the sign would illuminate better but it's a good first attempt at it. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printer: Robo 3D R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Infill: 30 Notes: Only the BaseTop needs supports printed. I tried flipping the basetop over which surprisingly didn't clean up as well as it usually does. Post-Printing Base setup I glued the basering to the base just so there's something to keep the basetop aligned with the bottom and prevents it from moving around. Keep trying to flip this image but it always comes out upside-down. Oh and I am being serious and not making a bad Stranger Things pun. The base picture really does keep displaying upside-down on here. How I Designed This I used Meshmixer to hollow out the object, then cut off the bottom part. I also made a slice and resized for the basering to allow it to sit right inside the basetop and prevent it from moving around.
