Strandbeest
thingiverse
I am creating an RC robot inspired by Theo Jansen's Strandbeest idea. My design is based on a concept published in the German magazine MAKE, issue 1/16. The original design features laser-cut medium-density fiberboard pieces that are 3mm thick. I adapted these parts to be printed on a 3D printer. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer Model: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes, I'm using rafts for better adhesion. Supports: No, I've designed the model without supports for easier printing. Resolution: The default resolution is fine for this project. Infill: I'll use the default infill percentage for optimal weight and strength.
With this file you will be able to print Strandbeest with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Strandbeest.
