Strandbeest

Hello, my name is "Griddlock", and I'm excited for you to build this functional model of Theo Jansen's "Strandbeest". I followed Theo's exact ratios to generate the leg and crankshaft pieces, then added some unique design elements to the body, making it easy to add motors that will propel the 'animal' forward. This package includes two versions of the Strandbeest. The parts labeled "2-pair" have two leg pairs on each half of the chassis, while the "3-pair" have three. It's straightforward - you just need to decide which version you want to build. Please read the "Printing Notes.txt" file for instructions and tips on print settings for each of the files. Update: After finishing the instructional video and creating the .stl package, I accidentally damaged three of the eight joints on the chassis. This was due to printing with PLA, a material that's known for being brittle. However, this experience has helped me identify the weak points in the model, so you can be aware of them too.
