Straight Sword

A beginner's first swing of the mighty straight sword. The weight feels substantial in my hands as I grasp the hilt tightly, fingers wrapping around it like a vice. The blade itself is long and slender, its edge glinting in the sunlight that streams through the window, casting a faint glow on the floor. I raise the sword high above my head, feeling the muscles in my arms and back flex as I do so. Bringing it down in a smooth arc, I attempt to slice through the air with precision, but the blade bites deep into the wooden training dummy instead, sending splinters flying everywhere.
